Alternative Community Resource Program (ACRP) -
The ACRP is an organization that provides services for children and families, including educational programs, mental and behavioral health services for individuals and families, and community and recreational activities. They also offer summer programs that focus on social-emotional, behavioral, and cognitive skills. All services are provided on a sliding scale fee based on a family's ability to pay.
Altoona Area School District offers free courses for adult learners, including those seeking to take the high school equivalency exam, improve their math and reading skills for entry into the workforce or college, or learn English as a second language (ESL). The state testing fee for high school equivalency is $24 per subject, and GED is $36 per subject; however, all courses are offered at no cost.
